On successful completion of this programme the learner should be able to :

PO1Knowledge - Breadth
 (a)The learner is expected to have a good grounding in: (1)a broadly-based scientific core, (2) elements of specialisation in the science of health studies.
PO2Knowledge - Kind
 (a)Some theoretical concepts and abstract thinking with significant underpinning theory. The learner is expected to have a good grounding in: (1) the terminology appropriate to health studies, (2) the general principles of the health studies, including relevant concepts and theories, (3) basic methods and techniques for acquiring, processing, analysing and presenting subject-specific information, (4) relevant legal, quality and regulatory frameworks.
PO3Skill - Range
 (a)Demonstrate comprehensive range of specialised skills. The learner will be able to: (1) apply a range of broadly-based psychomotor skills to perform routine tasks accurately, (2) select, gather and record data accurately, (3) work to set targets, (4) operate a range of relevant equipment safely, (5) maintain basic records of care activities, (6) present case studies to peers.
PO4Skill - Selectivity
 (a)Formulate responses to well-defined abstract problems. The learner will be able to: (1) respond to problems and opportunities that are likely to be encountered when working in a healthcare environment, (2) participate, under supervision and within scope of practice, in day-to-day care when in a healthcare environment.
PO5Competence - Context
 (a)Act in a range of varied and specific contexts involving creative and non-routine activities: transfer and apply theoretical concepts and/or skills to a range of contexts. The learner, under supervision, will be able to: (1) follow evidence based procedures to accurately gather, record and process information, (2) follow procedures to perform routine tasks in structured/managed healthcare work settings, (3) behave responsible in a healthcare work setting (4) work in accordance with current health and safety regulations.
PO6Competence - Role
 (a)Understand personal autonomy and under supervision provide care to heterogeneous groups. The learner will be able to: (1) work under supervision on daily care tasks, (2) contribute and participate under supervision in a health care team, (3) participate and contribute constructively in a team environment, (4) be self-directed in terms of time, motivation and planning and be self-aware and be open and sensitive to others (5) accept and exercise personal responsibility, (6) work under guidance within allocated responsibility.
