Module Description:CAD 1 introduces the student to the concepts of Computer Aided Drafting software. A comprehension of the tools and drawing aids will be gained, along with the ability of apply these techniques to create civil engineering drawings.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
  1. List the drawing tools and drawings aids within AutoCAD
  2. Repeat commands; experiment and edit an existing drawing
  3. Modify previous designs to grasp the benefits of constantly improving software
  4. Create, format, complete and print a new drawing.

Co-ordinates, drawing aids, the command line

Annotation, text management, dimension management, leader styles
Line Types & Layers
Polylines, line type, line weights
View-ports, layouts & printing
Printing via view ports, print set up, layer management
