  1. Define strategic human resource management and choose a HR strategy which is consistent with Business Strategy in both a national and international context.
  2. Contribute to corporate decision making in relation to the development and management of its human resources in a way that will create a sustainable competitive advantage for the organisation.
  3. Recognise the challenges involved in creating and leading a sustainable organisation.

The Concept of Strategic Human Resource Management
SHRM defined,the nature of SHRM, strategic fit, the resource-based view of strategic HRM, perspectives on strategic HRM, the best practice approach, the best fit approach, bundling, the reality of SHRM.
The Strategic Role of HR
The strategic role of HR practioners, the strategic business partner model, the strategic role of HR directors, of HR functions, of HR Business partners, the strategic contribution of HR advisors or assistants.
The Impact of Strategic HRM
The concept of performance, research on the link between HR activities and performance,how SHRM makes an impact, how SHRM concepts impact on practice.
Strategic HRM in Action
Formulating HR Strategy, philosophy on managing people, corporate issues, achieving integration.
International HRM
