On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
  1. Produce more advanced, high quality business documents to a standard compatible with corporate requirements.
  2. Further analyse numerical data using features such as advanced filtering techniques, lookups and validating table data.
  3. Design and query a multi-table relational database.
  4. Complete projects that integrate word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

Indicative Content
Advanced Word Processing
Further developing multipage documents. Working with styles and templates. Working with references, building forms and integrating word processing with other programmes.
Advanced Spreadsheets
Analysing data using functions such as: filters, validating table data, lookup tables, creating subtotals, what-if analysis, scenario manager, goal seek and solver.
Database Design
Understand and design a relational database. Querying a database using multi-table queries, calculated queries, summary and crosstab queries incorporating pivot tables and pivot charts. Designing forms and reports.
Integrating Data between Applications
Creating sophisticated documents incorporating data from multiple office programmes. By creating links between the programmes, tasks can be kept up-to-date and ready to go at a moment's notice.
