Module Description:The focus of this module is to provide practical skills training to safely implement basic service user care.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
  1. Demonstrate service user care needs associated with activites of daily living regarding personal hygiene.
  2. Demonstrate appropiate assessment and de-escalation techniques for service users who present with behaviours that challenge.
  3. Demostrate use of communication systems.

Behaviour management techniques, behaviour assessment.
Personal hygiene
Personal care including oral care, incontinence care, commode use, catheter care, skin hygiene and pressure area care.
Communication systems
