On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
  1. Interact in spoken French in situations relevant to a study period in France.
  2. Understand and reproduce features of French pronunciation such as vowels and consonants.
  3. Understand authentic written and aural material.
  4. Write a reflective journal and longer descriptive texts.
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of aspects of French life and society.

Grammar
Revision of all tenses with particular emphasis on perfect and imperfect.
French for general purposes
Study of a French film, Aspects of French society: origins, immigration, & racism-comparison with Ireland. Living in France: preparation towards semester abroad & journal writing. Current afffairs(radio& TV recordings).
