Module Description:This module explores physical, cognitive and socio-emotional development over the course of the lifespan. Particular emphasis is placed on the contribution of the major theorists.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
  1. Identify and outline the nature, scope and debates within Developmental Psychology
  2. Examine the main stages of lifespan development
  3. Differentiate between theories of development
  4. Recognise and review the contribution of the main theorists in lifespan development
  5. Assess theories with reference to current reports in the media
  6. Recognise and explain selected issues in abnormal psychology
