Module Description:The aim of this module is to encourage students to participate in activities that will enhance their personal and professional development.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
  1. Define the practical skills required for personal and professional development and demonstrate increased personal and professional confidence.
  2. Demonstrate increased level of transferable core competencies – self awareness, interpersonal skills, goal setting, reflective practice skills and leadership
  3. Explain the value of experiential learning process and apply this knowledge to inform ongoing personal and professional development
  4. Describe the importance of mentoring values including boundaries, empowerment, ownership, mutual respect, voluntary engagement and independence

Peer Mentoring
Support first year students adapt to the change of entering third level including study skills, support, problem solving strategies for personal and academic challenges.
Peer Mentoring of International Students
Support international students with the challenges they face integrating into life at Dundalk Institute of Technology.
Community Development Activity
Students involved in voluntary activities which serve their community
Outstanding commitment/ achievements
Student who participate in major Sports, Art, Music, Clubs & Societies achievements.
Peer Tutoring
Academic tutoring of weaker students in specific subject areas eg. Accountancy
