Module Description:Students completing this module will have a thorough understanding of the role of the project manager. They will be able to organise creative brainstorming sessions and they will be fully aware of what is involved in being responsible for the implementation of a Creative Media Product
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
  1. demonstrate an understanding of the role of project management from the initial idea stage right through to the delivery of the final product.
  2. encourage the developing of ideas and concepts and how to present them to a client.
  3. plan the length of time a project will take to complete taking into account the possible difficulties that may arise.

What makes a good Project Manager? Why they are important. Core principles and qualities.
Creative concept - Brainstorming: how to take a part in and how to lead a brainstorming session
Establishing Clients needs and wants, pre-pitch meetings, running effective meetings.
Writing an effective brief. Different types of briefs and their value.
Planning a project. Understanding the typical development cycle - Beginning a project > Analysing requirements > Design and prototype > Construction and testing > Deployment and evaluation
Team Management and Selection
Definition of Content – What is suitable for your target audience.
Request for Proposal - Designing and delivering a pitch.
Production - Resourcing,– Scheduling, Costing and contract issues
Asset management – organisational and copyright issues.
