Module Description:This module will introduce the learner to the various elements of tourism on a global basis and consider the scope, diversity, complexity and importance of tourism in the economic world.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
  1. Define tourism and express the development of tourism as an economic industry
  2. Illustrate the tourism system and describe the elements of this system
  3. Explain the key components of the tourism industry
  4. Define the motivations of tourists and apply this to consumer motivations and choice
  5. Explain the economic and environmental impacts of tourism.
