Module Description:The aim of this module is to enable students to work capably and competently in a backstage environment. They will gain proficiency in a number of key skills, including woodwork and basic stage construction, electrical skills and basic lighting, audio production and sound design; stage management and basics of how to run the backstage environment.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
  1. Understand Health and Safety legislation as it pertains to the backstage environment
  2. Understand Theatre Health and Safety Practice
  3. Use Cad to design a basic set
  4. Build basic set pieces
  5. Understand electrical systems as they pertain to a theatre
