Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
  1. Identify, use and apply a range of AutoCad objects in the preparation of building surveying and construction drawing.
  2. Use AutoCad tools sufficient to create, evaluate and edit complex building surveying and construction drawings.
  3. Create multiple drawings in AutoCAD for a complex building surveying and construction project.
  4. Plot and publish building surveying and construction drawings in a variety of formats.

Indicative Content
Advanced Drawing Skills
Drawing commands using keyboard shortcuts, grips, object selection settings and filters, system variables, advanced line-type creation, editing object properties.
Editing Hatching, Text and Dimensions
Creating regions and boundaries, editing hatch, text and dimensions, dimension style families, annotative text and dimensions, creating a title block with attributes.
Raster Images, PDF underlays and External Referenced drawings
Working with raster images and pdf underlays, scaling them and their application in construction and planning drawings. Display order options. Externally referencing information to a drawing.
Viewing and printing via layout tabs
Use of layout space and setting out drawings, viewports, layer manipulation.
Advanced Printing and Plotting
Plotting from Layouts, Layers, Use of CTB files for printing.
