Module Description:The aim of this module is to equip students with the ability to produce a Bill of Quantities and the ability to estimate the cost of construction works
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
  1. Quantify construction works for non-domestic buildings of conventional construction in accordance with ARM4
  2. Produce a quantified unpriced Bill of Quantities in accordance with ARM4
  3. Calculate unit rates reflective of the rules of ARM4.
  4. Examine and price Provisional Sums, Prime Cost Sums and Preliminaries
  5. Examine and analyse risks, overheads and profit

Indicative Content
Measurement:
Quantification of construction work associated with non-domestic buildings in accordance with rules of ARM4.
Bill of Quantities:
Produce a Bill of Quantities in accordance with rules of ARM4.
Estimating:
Sourcing data; all-in-rates; builders quantities; unit rates; preliminaries; provisional sums; prime costs sums; risk; overheads; profit.

Students shall be given the opportunity to re-attempt the recoverable elements of their CA. Students will be given an opportunity to remediate part or all of their CA.
