The aim of this module is to enable students to develop and implement site management processes.

On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
Describe the construction site layout and examine implication of site layout planning
Discuss the efficient and effective management of resources on site
Explain the implications of the elements of quality management for construction sites
Identify appropriate site management structures.

Indicative Content
Site Layout Planning
Analyse the site set-up requirements of particular sites (e.g. security, storage, welfare facilities); examine the site within its environment (e.g. access, pollution).
Managing Resources on Site
Establish requirement for resources including labour, plant, materials; Plan for efficient and effective management of resources including waste elimination strategy.
Quality Management
Implementation of quality control and quality assurance procedures. Embedding of total quality management culture.
Site Supervision
Setting up management structure on site.

A repeat examination Reassessment of this module will consist of a repeat examination. It is possible that there will also be a requirement to be reassessed in a coursework element.
Reassessment Description Students will be given an opportunity to remediate part or all of their CA performance by the autumn/repeat examination boards by repeating part or all of the same or similar CA.
