Module Description:Building Information Modelling and Information and Communications Technology are a fundamental necessity of BIM Managment. This module looks at software such as Autodesk Navisworks which combines 3D geometry from cross disciplines into one scene to enable effective model reviews and analysis. The module shall also look at BIM 360 document management to demonstrate effective managment, review and communication of all documents within a BIM project.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
  1. Use software to manage, review and communicate BIM related documents and information within a project.
  2. Create links to object properties files and scheduling files in external databases.
  3. Perform visual project model reviews using the built in review and reporting tools.
  4. Create construction simulations of a project model to check the validity of construction schedules
  5. Perform interference detection tests between 3D files of different disciplines to check integrity of the design

Navisworks or Similar Software content to include
Appending and merging different file types, Walking through your model, Working with viewpoints, Reviewing and marking up a model, Manipulating and finding objects, Adding links to objects, Sorting and grouping, Investigating clash detection techniques and creating clash detection tests, Adding a timeline with the Timeliner.
