Module Description:Health assessment involves a holistic approach to a comprehensive health history and advanced physical assessment. This module will allow students to acquire the knowledge and skills to undertake a systematic health assessment.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
  1. Demonstrate the ability to undertake a comprehensive heath history which includes an individualised plan of care.
  2. Assess the biopsychosocial needs of the service user.
  3. Demonstrate proficiency in carrying out a holistic and systematic advanced health assessment.
  4. Critically interpret new and existing nursing knowledge through evidence-based practices.

Health assessment
Review of anatomy and physiology of various body systems: Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Nervous, Digestive, Endocrine, Renal, Musculoskeletal, Integementary. Comprehensive history taking, advanced health assessment of the following body systems: Cardiac, Respiratory, Abdominal, Neurocranial, Neuromuscular, Skin, Musculoskeletal, Mental Health assessment.
