Module Description:This is the clinical component for the Certificate in Nursing/ Midwifery Medicinal Product Prescribing.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner should be able to
  1. Utilise evidence based knowledge and skill of patient or client assessment and consultation to achieve a holistic approach to patient or client care in the prescribing of medical products.
  2. Apply expert skills in clinical decision making in relation to prescribing medical products.
  3. Demonstrate a critical understanding of pharmacotherapeutics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics and pharmacovigilance.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of the role of the multidisciplinary team and effective communication process involved in safe medication management.
  5. Demonstrate skills of critical analysis, problem-solving, decision-making, clinical judgement and reflective skills and abilities to enable them to practice safely in their expanded role in their specific areas of clinical practice.
