Educational Aim of Programme The aim of this programme is to will provide students with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design, develop and evaluate game and XR (Extended Reality) user experiences with game based technologies. The course is developed with the support of a range of companies and organisations working in the field of game and XR technologies.

Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

On successful completion of this programme the learner should be able to :

PLO1 Demonstrate expert knowledge of advanced concepts or specialist areas in the following areas: Production Pipeline, Storytelling, Game Based Technology / Extended Reality Theory, 3D Computer Animation, User Experience Design (UXD), Sound Design, Data Analytics and VFX Compositing and Mathematics;
PLO2 Demonstrate the complexities of theory and practice in the field of games and Extended Reality, including state-of-the-art technology;
PLO3 Deploy appropriate theory, practices and tools for the specification, design, implementation and evaluation of games and XR applications;
PLO4 Manage a game or XR project throughout all stages of the design and development lifecycle;
PLO5 Transfer and apply creative and diagnostic skills in a range of contexts, with reference to game and XR technologies
PLO6 Take significant responsibility for the work of individuals and groups; lead and initiate activity.
PLO7 Manage one's own learning and development, including time management and organisational skills
PLO8 Demonstrate a conceptual and aesthetic awareness that shows an ability to empathise with and question existing precepts, which will allow the learner to evolve an individual approach to own work, based on reflection and research.
