Module Description: This module will develop the students creative skills and provide theories and applications of innovation. They will learn the theory and learn how to apply the fundamentals of teamwork.
 
Module Learning Outcome
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

MLO5 Select,develop and present an idea in teams for a potential new venture

The Fundamentals of Creative Thinking
Understanding creativity and its link to innovation and entrepreneurship
Idea Generation and Basic Problem Solving Toolkit
Use of various idea generation techniques to solve problems, develop new offerings and improve/adapt existing products and services.
Teamwork
Determining what makes teams effective , how teams operate in the workplace and learning how to work as part of a successful team.Students will undertake Belbin's Personality profiling.
Barriers to Creativity
Understand what inhibits creativity at an individual and organisational level
Screening Ideas for Potential Innovation
Students will screen various ideas for potential opportunities
Develop an idea in teams for potential new venture
Assessment of potential viability of idea, development of project document
Team Presentation
Students will frame their ideas for delivery in a creative 5 minute pitch
