Module Description: The aim of the Erasmus English course is to improve students’ general proficiency in English, with particular emphasis on oral fluency, presentation skills and intercultural competence.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

MLO1 Conduct field research on a range of topics relating to Irish culture and society
MLO2 Present, analyse, evaluate and compare the findings
MLO3 Lead and engage in discussion of topics studied, using appropriate discursive structures for exposition, argument and exressing opinions
MLO4 Understand a range of complex listening material including conversations, lectures, extracts from T.V. and radio
MLO5 Read and understand texts from a range of non-fiction and fiction sources
MLO6 Write in a variety of styles and registers
