Module Description: The aim of this module is for students to learn the strategic importance of good supply chain design. The students will be able to understand how Supply Chain Management and Logistics and Lean Systems can be a competitive advantage, whereas weaknesses in the supply chain can hurt the performance of a firm. This will also incorporate 'farm to fork' traceability and integrity.

Module Learning Outcome
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
# Module Learning Outcome Description
MLO1 Assess the importance of Supply Chain Integrity within the Food Industry both globally and locally
MLO2 Critique the importance of achieving a Competitive Supply Chain Strategy
MLO3 Analyse the importance of Logistics and Lean Systems within the Food Supply Chain
MLO4 Appraise the impact of Sustainability on the Food Supply Chain
MLO5 Evaluate the key factors and requirements of traceability at both farm and processing level - to include, animal, material traceability, electronic tracing etc.
Pre-requisite learning
Module Recommendations
This is prior learning (or a practical skill) that is strongly recommended before enrolment in this module. You may enrol in this module if you have not acquired the recommended learning but you will have considerable difficulty in passing (i.e. achieving the learning outcomes of) the module.
