This module aims to inform the student about dietary requirements for each stage in the lifecycle from preconception to old age and to assess the evidence for particular food ingredients to support health.

MLO1 |
Describe the physiological changes that occur in the human lifecycle. |
MLO2 |
Identify specific nutrient requirements for each stage of the lifecycle. |
MLO3 |
Plan diets to adequately meet nutritional needs at a given level and identify ways to address common nutritional problems. |
MLO4 |
Suggest dietary components that would be useful in the diet of individuals who are obese, or suffer from heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, cancer, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract or mental health problems, and evaluate the evidence for their inclusion. |
