This programme will allow midwives to develop their knowledge and skills in the recognition, assessment, care, and evaluation of acutely ill women in maternity services.

Consider the structure and function of altered anatomical and physiological organ systems in pregnancy/postnatal period |

Develop an enhanced understanding of pregnancy/postnatal conditions that contribute to maternal morbidity and mortality |

Utilise new knowledge to enhance advanced assessment and care of women presenting with altered health states in pregnancy/postnatal period |

Demonstrate clinical competence and critical thinking for level 2 midwifery care in pregnancy/postnatal period |

Discuss strategies for enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration and communication. |
