Module Description: Business functions cannot work in isolation but are by necessity interdependent. The aim of this module is to provide an introduction to accounting for students pursuing a career in marketing and communications.
 
Module Learning Outcome
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

MLO1 Describe the role of financial accounting, management accounting and financial management within a business.
MLO2 Distinguish between the various forms of business entity and identify the accounting information needs of stakeholders.
MLO3 Record basic financial transactions and extract a trial balance.
MLO4 Convert information from a trial balance into basic financial statements for sole traders
MLO5 Review information in the financial statements and explain its significance
