Module Description: The aim of this module is to equip the student with the necessary communicative skills for working in a French speaking environment and to broaden the students’ understanding of French society and culture.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

MLO1 Speak French readily with precision in relation to grammar, idiom, pronunciation, intonation and fluency.
MLO2 Perform aural comprehension tasks based on authentic and advanced material such as films or documentaries
MLO3 Compare, contrast and critically comment, in written French, on topics relating to French/Francophone history and literature and cinema
MLO4 Respond critically to selected works of French/Francophone literature
MLO5 Evaluate the usefulness of various language learning strategies in order to communicate effectively in any situation
