Module Description: This module aims to provide an introduction to the events industry and to give students an understanding of the planning, managing and staging of events. The module will also identify the key features of successful event management and establish the criteria for consideration in managing any event and to recognize the constraints involved.
 
Module Learning Outcome
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

MLO1 Develop the skills to conceptualise, plan, implement and evaluate an effective event plan.
MLO2 Apply the tactics learned to develop and implement an effective PR campaign for an event using appropriate online and offline media.
MLO3 Assess the impacts of events.
MLO4 Evaluate the effectiveness of an event in its aftermath and prepare a report.

Each student is required to produce an E-Portfolio where they document and report on the event planning process, reflecting on its effectiveness and their own individual contribution to the process. This portfolio may include videos, samples of their promotional materlal, reflective report etc.
