This hybrid module facilitates students to engage with the landscape of contemporary trends in the Irish screen industries from both a theoretical and industry perspective. Students will critically analyse and situate recent and current key Irish Screen texts in terms of their standing in the development of the contemporary Irish Screen landscape overall, along with their full production cycle from development to distribution.

Analysis of key Irish Screen Texts
Weekly lectures will focus on one key Irish Screen text every 4 weeks which will be critically analysed from both an industry perspective in terms of its production lifecycle and from a theoretical perspective in terms of its placement within the study of Irish Cinema and Screen Landscape overall.

Masterclass from industry professional involved in chosen text
Every 4 weeks, a 1/2 day (4 hour) masterclass will take place with an industry professional involved in a key role in the chosen text the students have been analysing for the prior 4 weeks.
