• Module Summary
The aim of this module is to introduce students to the practical tools and techniques of Web Design and Development possibilities within the realm of Digital Humanities.

• Lecture content
Various graphic formats/Image compression, Resolution/DPI.
Design issues to include – layout, colour, alignment, proximity, contrast, repetition and screen Vs print.

• Lab content - Introduction to Web Page Editing (WordPress)
Build a web site and apply WordPress features and utilities such as plug-ins, templates, themes and widgets.

• Lab content - Introduction to Image Editing (Gimp or equivalent)
Image Editing Basics, Image Basics, Colour Correction, Making Selections, Fixing Image Problems, Working with Effects, Working with Text and Exporting / Printing
