Module Description: This module explores the dominant themes and styles characteristic of the Romantic poets. It encourages students to perform close textual readings from a variety of Romantics poets, and to explore themes of love, beauty, individualism, immortality and the role of the arts.
 
Module Learning Outcome
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

MLO2 Discuss the social and cultural context out of which the Romantics emerged and illustrate the connections between this context and the poetry.
MLO3 Perform a number of close textual studies of key poems.
MLO4 Evaluate the lasting influence of the Romantics on music and poetry
