Module Description: This module aims to enable students to develop their Creative Thinking Skills. It will also provide students with the skills and techniques that can be used to turn their ideas and knowledge into a viable commercial product or service. Blended learning techniques will be integrated into the design and delivery of the module.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Creativity
The fundamentals of creative thinking and understanding creativity. The link between creativity and innovation.
Entrepreneurship and Creativity
What is an entrepreneur? Barriers and triggers to entrepreneurship. Your personal drivers. The character traits of entrepreneurs. Creativity and Entrepreneurship – shared competencies?
Screening Ideas for Potential Business Opportunities
New venture typologies. Creating and spotting opportunity. Nurturing creativity and innovation. Active discovery and other techniques for exploring change.
Developing the Project Document
Using the Local Enterprise Office's Student Enterprise Workbook,key aspects of a business plan to include organisation structure,market research and analysis, marketing and promotion and finance will be taught .
Professional Presentation Techniques
Presenting your business plan to a professional audience. A poster explaining the main points of the business idea and business plan will be designed, created and defended.Ensuring the poster presentation follows the required guidelines. Selecting and presenting the appropriate content. Defending your poster. Speaking clearly, fluently and in a compelling manner.
