Module Description: |
This module investigates the organisation, structure and function of the human body and how it relates to human movement and exercise. Students will use the principles of anatomy, physiology and kinesiology to explore skilled movement in the exercise environment. Students will also apply the principles of exercise assessment, programming and client care to individuals in a sport or exercise setting.

Principles of anatomy, physiology and fitness
Introduction to the skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system, cadiovascular system, respiratory system, digestive system and energy for movement.

Professionalism and Customer Care
Legal and professional requirements, customer care, client communication, professional development, health and safety in the exercise environment.
|
Planning and instructing gym based exercise
Effective session structure, used of equipment, principles and components of fitness and training, delivering exercise programmes to individuals and groups, reflective practice, testing and monitoring.
|
Supporting Clients to change exercise behaviour
Appropriate screening methods, informed consent, GDPR, lifestyle factors in exercise behaviour, healthy eating, used of technology, exercise adherence, health and fitness screening, goal setting.
