• From charity models to critical CD • Linking CD principles with an analysis of power • Paulo Freire, Agusto Boal, Antonio Gramsci, Margaret Ledwith.
Models of Community Development:
• Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) • Deficiency based Community Development • Bottom-up Vs Top-Down
Application of Community Development models to student’s communities:
• A critical look at student’s own communities in terms of assets and deficits • Theatre of the Oppressed
Identification of root causes of social injustice:
• But Why? Approach, • Theatre of the Oppressed
Reflective Practice:
• Models of RP (Gibbs, Kolb, Rolfe) • Reflective Writing
