Module Description: Information systems are becoming ever more central to society, especially in business and industry. As society and technology develop in parallel, the most important skills for the future lie in the development of individuals with the ability to both understand and manage these complex and interrelated systems.
Consequently, aspects of business that were once seen in isolation (eg people,
organisation, process, information and technology) are now expected to operate as part of a seamless whole - both within and across enterprises. This places stringent new demands on the knowledge, skills and technologies required to develop and control (manage) such systems
 
Module Learning Outcome
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

MLO1 Recognise how information systems and technology support business strategy, business processes, and as such are a key factor for the success of many organisations.
MLO2 Evaluate the relationship between organisations, information systems and business processes, including the processes for customer relationship management and supply chain management.
MLO3 Interrelate how various support systems can be used for business decisions and to sustain competitive advantage.
MLO4 Explore some of the ethical, social and political issues raised by the adoption of Information Systems.
MLO5 Combine analytical thinking, creativity and business-problem-solving as applied to ongoing MIS challenges, future trends, and relevant case studies.
MLO6 Use a range of software tools to filter, sort, analyze and visualize data (self service BI)
