Module Description: Students completing this module will undertake, with appropriate supervision, a substantial project, that demonstrates a thorough understanding of the methodology taught in the masters. They will use appropriate data to investigate, formulate a research hypothesis, explore the data using visualisation techniques, undergo an appropriate investigation and evaluate these results. They will also produce a well-structured dissertation. The students writing should be fit for publication purposes.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

MLO1 Work on dissertation which will involve estimating, planning and managing their time effectively.
MLO2 Within the research discipline, conduct thorough investigation in previous research and write a literature review of such research.
MLO3 Apply an inquiring, analytical, critical and creative approach to problem identification and solution.
MLO4 Reason in a consistent and methodological manner and be able to argue rationally and draw independent conclusions based on a rigorous, analytical and critical approach to the data.
MLO5 Produce well-structured dissertation documentation, written in clear and concise language, which communicates their findings effectively and coherently.
MLO6 Defend the conclusion of the project and discuss future developments in an oral/practical presentation.
