On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

MLO1 Communicate, engage and build positive relationships with young people and other adults in a youth work setting that is mutually respectful and appropriate, whilst recognising the steps involved in dealing with challenging behaviours as required.
MLO2 Initiate, build and maintain positive relationships with young people on a one to one or group work basis in accordance to youth work values and principles.
MLO3 Intervene in a conscious and appropriate manner, monitor and assess the effectiveness of the intervention and display the ability to record any learning from interventions in a reflective way.
MLO4 Articulate and practice the role of the youth worker, to include its scope, limitations, boundaries and expectations and work effectively alongside other members of staff, voluntary or paid.
MLO5 Acknowledge and explore personal reactions and feelings to the unexpected, unfamilar and potentially stressful situations.
MLO6 Demonstrate full awareness and compliance around polices, procedures in the workplace, paying particular emphasis on Child Protection Guidelines.
