Leadership Theories
Understanding different leadership models and perspectives: Trait, Behavioural, Situational, Relational, Distributed leadership, Charismatic leadership, Authentic Leadership, Ethical Leadership, Critical Leadership.
Different Levels of Leadership
Influencing and negotiating. Networking and making connections. Managing ‘up, down and across’. Appraising leaders' styles/approaches.
Building and Leading Teams
Defining teams. Importance of teams. Different types of teams and self-managed teams. Team mix and successful team characteristics; team formation, composition and roles. Tools to assess performance.
Developing Self-Leadership
Appraising and developing own leadership skills/style. Emotional Intelligence. Reflective Practice. Continuous Professional Development and Personal Development Planning.
Developing Others
Supporting your team. Identifying, highlighting and engaging strengths. Identifying development needs and personal development planning. Developing coaching and mentoring skills. Giving feedback on performance. Managing conflict.
