Module Description: Business Tourism is a term which covers a wide range of activities. This module will examine the different types of business tourism which make up the MICE industry - Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions, as well as discussing the characteristics of individual business travel. You will learn about each of these diverse components of the Business Tourism Industry, and the role that they have to play within the wider tourism context.
 
Module Learning Outcome
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

MLO1 Determine the important contribution business tourism makes in the context of the broader tourism sector
MLO2 Analyse the structure of business tourism.
MLO3 Appraise and evaluate a conference/meeting event plan.
MLO4 Appraise and evaluate an incentive programme
MLO5 Investigate, discuss and present on a range of topical issues affecting business travel (e.g. female business travellers, corporate travel agents changing roles, the impact of travel policies on traveller behaviour)
