Module Description: This programme module aims to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to promote and maintain safety and health in a work environment through an awareness of current legislation.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

MLO2 Explain the concept of a legal register, benefits and uses.
MLO3 Explain the role of the Health and Safety Authority.
MLO4 Describe the role of the Health and Safety Inspector.
MLO5 Outline the main principles of case law examples that have taken place.
MLO6 Develop the academic and vocational language related to Safety & Health at work in the working environment.
MLO7 Create an awareness of safety and health issues in the workplace.
