Module Indicative Content |
Supervised project module
This is a supervised project module, as such there is no taught content. Your supervisor will however support you to extend your knowledge and skills gained from previous modules on the programme.
|
Typical Examples
Typical examples of artefacts include a short animated movie, designing and building a level of a complete ’first playable’ prototype game (or ’the vertical slice’) for PC, or consoles or mobile platforms, an immersive VR experience built for HMD devices or a web based AR prototype solution of a quality to be suitable to be shown to a publisher/festival. Alternatively, the student may choose to create a tool or process suitable for games related workflow.
|
User Testing
Students should evaluate their current iterations with external users, peers, stakeholders and supervisors based on defined criteria.
The students should be considering user profiles, research ethics guidelines, best practice in terms of user testing and implement changes based on evaluation
|
Stakeholders
Collaborations with industry partners will be supported and encouraged where possible. The student may choose to partner with a games/animation or related company. The student would be required to make their own arrangements for this partnership with advice and agreement from their supervisor.
|
Documentation
The development process will follow a structured managed workflow solution e.g. agile development process
Students will use an e-portfolio to write up and reflect on their process
Regular weekly journal posts will give students an opportunity to reflect and document solutions and technologies being utilized, this process will involve dialogue with their peers and supervisors
|
Seminar
Students will present to peers discuss design solutions, test current iterations and provide feedback
|
Supervision Meetings
Students will have supervision to guide their designed process, artefact development and documentation
