Module Description: The aim of this module is to provide students with an understanding of the Irish legal system, the legal obligations of and opportunities for those in business and how law facilitates business and entrepreneurship.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Legal obligations under the law of contract. Principles of negligence. Liability for defective products.
Commercialisation
Patents. Registration of a patent. Dealings in patents. Infringement of patent and remedies. Trademarks. Registration of a trademark. Dealings in trademarks. Infringement of a trademark. Remedies. Designs. Registration of a design. Infringement of a design and remedies..
