Module Description: Students completing this module will undertake, with appropriate supervision, a substantial project, that demonstrates a thorough understanding of research and development processes. They will analyse, design, implement and test a substantial software application/prototype in a specific application domain. They will also produce well-structured project documentation and present it appropriately.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

MLO5 Discuss and defend their project in an oral/practical presentation.

Project deliverables will also be supported and evidenced by an appropriate e-portfolio. Students will present their project to all staff and students on the programme. A panel of assessors, consisting of the project supervisor and at least one other staff member, will allocate all of the marks available for this assessment.

Reassessment Requirement
No repeat examination
Reassessment of this module will be offered solely on the basis of coursework and a repeat examination will not be offered.
Reassessment Description
The project will be re-assessed in Autumn by a panel of assessors consisting of the project supervisor and at least one other staff member. Reassessment will be on the basis of resubmitted project documentation and a formal presentation that addresses shortcomings in the original project submission.
